CHICAGO TAI CHI RULES
Here's what we are looking for: Neutralization, projection, control,
dominance, creativity, relaxation, tricks, thickness changes, high
endurance, recovery ability...
There are Two Categories in the Pushing Hands Competition:
Beginners Section:
20 Seconds - Single Hand Pushing Hands with non-moving front foot
20 Seconds - Double Hand Pushing Hands with non-moving front foot
2 Minutes - Free Style Rolling Hands
Advanced Section:
15 Seconds - Single Hand Pushing Hands with non-moving front foot
15 Seconds - Double Hand Pushing Hands with non-moving front foot
1 Minute - 4 Forms Pushing Hands (Rarely Used)
2 Minutes - Free Style Rolling Hands
THESE RULES APPLY TO THE ADVANCED CATEGORY ONLY
(Fun, challenging, safe & simple)
What IS allowed:
Controlled sweeps are allowed
Throw set ups are O.K.
Head, neck & face control is O.K.
Single & double hand grabs are O.K.
Tai Chi dominance is preferred
Large joint locks are O.K.
Low stance is O.K.
Body slaps are O.K.
Continous Recoveries = Non-stop action until the whistle blows
What is NOT allowed:
No throws
No punches or kicks
No hand or wrist locks
No face or head slaps
FORMS TIME KEEPING:
3 Minute Notice
15 Second - STOP!
PUSHING HANDS TIMING:
No Weight Classes
Lose 2 times to be disqualified
