TEMPLE STYLE TAI CHI CHUAN

Inside Kung Fu Magazine Jun07, Power At The Speed Of Light (PDF)

Mind Light™ Nei Kung Group Training, in Chicago, May 2007. Call NOW!

Temple Style Tai Chi diid NOT come easy for me. I worked harder and longer than everyone else in the school, 6-10 hours per day, for the first 10 years, to be exact, not 3 hours per week like everybody else.

I learned how to practice from Grandmaster Han Cha Kyo, my Tae Kwon Do teacher and he pushed me very hard. TKD ultimately turned out to be the wrong art for me because of my short arms and legs, and my "taste for closeness," that I had developed through my fights as a kid.

Switching to Temple Style Tai Chi Chuan in 1974 was one of the best things that ever happened to me. GM Han taught me "how" to practice, Temple Style taught me "what" to practice. I opened my school in 1979.

Opening my school in my 5th year was considered highly unusual, but in 1977, Master Waysun Liao told me I was "equivalent to a 15-20 year practitioner." That was very encouraging.

The rest was a combination or great teachers, hard work, perseverance, personality, inspiration, no sleep, no job, no life, no girlfriend, no kids, no profession except Tai Chi and acupuncture, no money, no friends, a little luck and a lot of TIME. This was NO hobby! I was "Crazy Gary."

I am NOT special and I AM proof that anybody can excel at anything, if YOU want it bad enough. Let's get started!

First of all, this ain't your Grandma's Tai Chi class. My Tai Chi class is for serious students only. Completing Tidal Wave™ Chi Kung is a pre-requisite prior to get into my class. We do practice Chi Kung at the end of each Tai Chi class.

In Temple Style Tai Chi Chuan you learn one small piece at a time. You don't get any new material until you are O.K. with what you already are working on. Learning this way requires hard work, patience, endurance, and about ten other attributes.

Each new thing you learn is built on your ability to do what already have learned. I made it through the entire system in under 5 years and opened my school while in my sixth year.

The purpose of all these Tai Chi clips is so you can understand what and why to practice the 2-Person Practices that I am going to record and post in the near future. This is exciting!

Doing Tai Chi applications against another Tai Chi person means nothing compared to using them against a non-Tai Chi person. I am NOT real happy with the level of explanation out there concerning Pushing Hands. I am preparing "How To" Pushing Hands Clips. Look for them soon.

I've already created the "how to" Tai Chi videos for Pushing Hands and "Close Encounters Training" a long time ago. Yes, they are available. But what I see on the internet is that very few are actually teaching the steps to take to learn these skills. That's why I am giving Pushing Hands additional attention.

All the Tai Chi Demo videos I've watched on YouTube always seem to beat up their incapable weak/noodle students. Watch what I come up with...

I just have to comment on some of these. Without my comments, it looks like I acknowledge their skill. I don't.
